Thesis Collection
Upon realizing the physical and spiritual consequences of my sugar addiction, I was compelled to start a collection. Through this collection, I aim to capture the essence of how desserts can evoke memories of carefree childhoods and provide psychological relief from the pressures of modern life. The connection between sweets and sexual undertones was a topic of fascination in my research. Seemingly innocent actions, such as licking candy and partaking in "sugar dates," were found to be linked to sexual references. It is important to highlight that drugs can be deceptively packaged to resemble sugar, potentially leading to harmful consequences for consumers. Furthermore, I shed light on the fact that capitalists often conceal the negative effects of sugar in order to boost sales. My collection is a reflection of how desserts can provide a temporary escape from the stresses of daily life, yet remain bound by reality.

Jingyi Hong is deeply influenced by the challenges of modern life, particularly the increased psychological pressure that people face. Her work focuses on exploring how people cope with these challenges, using desserts as a symbol of comfort and stress relief.
Jingyi believes that desserts have a unique effect on psychological stress. When people feel down or depleted, their brain craves sugar, which is easily converted from sweets like ice cream and cake. The taste and satisfaction that desserts provide can also offer psychological relief, fulfilling our need for enjoyable experiences and helping to alleviate negative moods.
Her artistic practice captures the emotions and experiences of people in today's society. Jingyi uses desserts as a way to convey a message of hope and resilience in the face of adversity. Her work aims to inspire others to find ways to cope with the challenges of modern life and to embrace the small moments of joy and pleasure that can bring us peace amidst the chaos.
